In order to increase the production efficiency of milk and meat products, the method of dehorning livestock is used in livestock complexes. Dehorning of cattle reduces injuries and aggression. Special tools and electric tools are used for dehorning. Calves are dehorned 1-5 weeks after birth.
The process of dehorning calves includes the following steps:
horn burner is heated for 15 minutes
the layer of hair around the barrier is removed
anesthetization (narcosis) process
burn the horn
light smoke rises
the burned area is processed with antiseptic substances.
